OUR MISSION
" His Story Is Our Fight "
Shane's Bill
Shane's Bill exists to protect families from legal warfare in divorce and after death. We advocate for fair courts, parental rights, and rightful next-of-kin protections so no family is silenced, erased, or shut out again.

Protect
Families
Keeping Children and Parents Connected
At the heart of every case is a child who deserves love, stability, and both parents. We advocate for fair custody practices and child-first decisions that preserve bonds, protect relationships, and ensure no parent is unfairly erased from their child's life.
Demand
Fair Courts
Accountability. Transparency. Justice.
Families deserve a legal system that protects the truth, not tactics. We advocate for greater accountability, ethical standards, and transparent processes so family courts serve children and parents with fairness, integrity, and respect.

Honor Rightful
Next of Kin
Protecting Dignity When It Matters Most
When a spouse passes away during divorce proceedings, the law can erase the process and leave decision-making power in the wrong hands, preventing families from caring for their loved one.

Shane's Bill advocates for post-mortem protections that safeguard rightful next of kin, ensuring families can handle arrangements, honor their loved ones, and lay them to rest with dignity and peace.
SHANE'S STORY
Shane was a devoted father of five, the kind of dad who built his entire life around his children. He showed up to every game, every milestone, every ordinary Tuesday night that matter just as much.

Family wasn't just important to him.
It was everything.

To everyone who loved him, he wasn't just Shane. He was "Shaner's", the nickname his family and friends called him lovingly for years, a name that still brings a smile through heartache and tears.

He was steady. Dependable. The one you could call at any hour.

Strong, hardworking, deeply present.
Not a man defined by struggle or instability, but by love, loyalty, and quiet strength.

He was also an entrepreneur, owning and operating his own plumbing, HVAC, and electrical business, working long days to provide for his family and carry the responsibilities of both home and livelihood on his shoulders. Even when the weight felt overwhelming, he kept showing up, because that's who he was, a provider, a builder, a man who took care of everyone else first.

Then came a divorce that became a battlefield.

During a highly contentious separation, Shane faced mounting legal and emotional pressures that no parent should ever have to endure.

He was followed. His home and storage unit broken into. His privacy invaded.
Time with his children was restricted.
Communication was controlled.
Every day became a fight just to remain in their lives.

Instead of protection, the system delivered conflict.
Instead of fairness, isolation.
Instead of care, fear.

The thought of losing his children - of being erased from their world - weighed on him more heavily than anything else.

On January 21, 2026, the day after a court hearing, overwhelmed by heartbreak and helplessness, Shane tragically took his own life in the house that used to boaster kid noises and family memories.

He was not battling a lifelong or short-term mental illness. He was a loving father crushed by a system that failed him.

And because his divorce was still pending under California law, the process was treated as if it has never happened.

Decision-making power remained with the very person he had been separated from, leaving his family unable to immediately care for him, protect his legacy, or lay him to rest with the dignity he deserved.

In life, he fought for his children.
In death, we now fight for him!

Shane's Bill was created so no family ever has to experience this kind of pain again.

His story is now a mission.
To protect families.
To demand fair courts.
To honor rightful next of kin.
And to turn unimaginable loss into lasting change.

Because EVERY parent deserves a voice.
Every child deserves BOTH parents.
And every family deserves dignity - in life and in death.
